Hico, Texas

Things To Do, Where To Eat, and Where To Stay In Hico, TX

December 20, 2022

Are you coming to Hico, Texas? ‘Where Everybody Is Somebody!’ is our town motto, and we’re also known for the tales of being the hideout of Billy the Kid. If a trip to this spectacular little gem of a town isn’t already on your bucket list, it needs to be! Hico, Texas and it’s 1,349 residents, hold a lot of pride in its existence, and the care the town takes of itself shows. Bring your family, girlfriends or significant other to this charming ranch town and stay for the weekend. Historic Hico, Texas is found in the Texas hill country, about 1-1/2 hours South of Fort Worth (DFW), an hour NW of Waco, 3 hours North of San Antonio & 2 hours East of Abilene. It is not uncommon to see cowboys (or cowgirls) on horseback riding right through the town and sometimes hitching their rides to the many hitching posts in front of some of the shops and restaurants. There are phenomenal shops to browse and shop in, amazing eateries to dine at, lots of wine & beverages to sip on and lots of ‘to do’s in and around this special little town. From the specialty shops like the local Chocolatier ‘Wiseman’s’ and Hico Popcorn Works, to numerous boutiques, eateries, this town has so much to offer.

bEFORE WE GET STARTED, Let me be the first to welcome you……..

BE SURE TO DOCUMENT YOUR STAY IN HICO, TX WITH PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOU AND YOUR GROUP!

You’ve probably heard by now that Hico is known for being the hideout and last town of Billy The Kid. Come hear the stories and see the proof at our own museum: Billy the Kid Museum

Bike and Jogging TrailS:

Next to Siloville (above), there is a very large biking and jogging trail that stretches around three city parks. The first, if you head East, you’ll go around the baseball fields, and then head back West and go under the 281 bridge and over to another small intimate park, then return and turn South crossing the bosque river bridge and to bike or walk through our large city park too! Luckily, in Hico, there are many great weather days to be able to frequent our parks.
