Where should we shoot?

I have an amazing locations gallery to send to you (after we have signed a contract and have received your deposit), so that you can hand select the perfect location just for you. My locations gallery options range all over central Texas from DFW to the Houston area and anywhere in between and around! Of course, you are not required to use one of our locations, and we’re happy to go anywhere that you’d like.

Do you travel to the Houston area?

Yes, quite often! In fact, I used to live in that area, and half of my business is still there. I ‘mostly’ travel in a radius of 4 hours from where I live, and I’ll go to any major city or small town in Texas! I put major miles on my SUV on a weekly basis so I can reach all of my amazing clients. Reach out to me on the contact form to inquire about coming your way. Most of the time I’m able to schedule you in conjunction with other shoots that I have in your area so that there is no trip charge.

Do you have insurance?

Yes! I have a couple of insurance policies. One is a million-dollar insurance umbrella policy, which I can provide to any wedding venue or other location which requires proof of coverage. I’m happy to work with your venue to become a preferred vendor for your event.

Will You Touch Up My Images?

Yes! KDP touches up all of the images added to your gallery before you even see them. Kimberly jokes that she is not only a photographer, but also a virtual dermatologist, and dentist as well. Your blemishes, scars, discolored teeth and any other obvious item that may not be wanted will automatically be removed and/or improved upon. Other photographers only edit faces leaving arms legs, necks etc. looking completely different. Kimberly, on the other hand, will take notice of any scrapes, bruising or funny tan lines etc. on all parts of your extremities to match your face as well. In the event you do not want any editing, or would like to see more, or are worried about a particular area of ‘you’, just let Kimberly know at your shoot. Kimberlys’ edits are very light and subtle, so you are not made to look plastic, but naturally gorgeous!

What Should I wear?

Family and individual portraits can really shine with a little thought put toward what to wear.  Knowing what to wear can sometimes become a daunting task. I’m here to help answer your questions, look at your texted options, and assist in making this process as smooth as possible. I often suggest wearing something that you’re both comfortable in and something you’re ‘excited’ to show off. Pull out that beautiful bell sleeve blouse, or shimmery dress that you rarely wear. If you have a package which includes multiple outfits it’s a great idea to select a mix of casual and fancier outfits so we can capture you in numerous ways. Don’t forget to accessorize! Jewelry and or fun hats, belts and bags can really enhance certain shots. I’m happy to send you style suggestions for you and whomever else will be in the shots with you after you’ve booked your date and paid your deposit.

how will I get my photographs and how long will it take to receive them?

You will be receiving your own personal on-line gallery via email where you may download the number of digital photographs that are in your designated package as well as purchase additional downloads, prints and other fun products.

From the time of your shoot to the receipt of your gallery is estimated to take anywhere from 2-4 weeks*. In this time your photographs are each sorted, sized, edited and given a personal professional touch. The receipt time will vary depending on the size of your gallery and the time of the year. Certain holidays or seasons are busier than others. You will be given a closer estimated time of receipt at your shoot. The majority of Kimberly’s shoots arrive before the estimation date, but this is never a guarantee. Just know, not rushing, and putting the quality time into each shot is Kimberly’s number one priority.

Please note:

  • *Wedding packages are typically 8-12 weeks. Our images are not farmed out to generic editing companies, and we hand touch each image ourselves to provide you the best images possible, which can take some time. A few sneak peeks are often released within the first week.

  • *Peek Senior season (during the late spring of your graduation year) will cause major delays due to senior procrastination, weather delays and the great demand for last minute shoots. This will, undoubtedly, result in the possibility of longer wait times (sometimes double) for your images, risking you not getting your images in time for announcements etc. We recommend you schedule your senior shoots well in advance to prevent such delays, and schedule as early in the year as you’re able to. Feel free to reach out and ask what the current return times are for images when you’re booking.

  • *Heavy edits for acne, and/or other blemishes to remove, can add to your wait times as these edits can take an exorbitant amount of time. Your gallery may get behind others who require this extra time as well.

How Large May I Print My HIGH-RESOLUTION Digital Images?

The high-resolution digital images that you receive in your gallery will be formatted to print up to an 8x10.

Kimberly Domangue Photography always suggests ordering prints directly through your KDP gallery, rather than an outside source, to eliminate any printing issues. If your session comes with a print release, however, and you choose not to purchase prints through KDP, you assume the risk of imperfect images. Other printing companies may not let you know that the crop or format of the image is not correct for the size you’re wanting. Outside printing company prints may not look crisp, they may have white space gaps on edges that you did not anticipate, or the colors may not be accurate. You’re welcome to call us to request the digital images that you’d like in a particular size, so we can download them in a particular format ideal for the print size you’re wanting (if it’s larger than an 8x10), however, we still cannot guarantee products from any outside printing company.

If prints are ordered through KDP, we will make sure the images are set to the correct crop and format. This automatically happens behind the scenes and KDP can print many sizes beyond 8x10 (such as 16x20 and 20x30 etc.), keeping the integrity of your images intact. We suggest ordering prints immediately after you receive your gallery. Even though we try keeping images for as long as we can, we cannot guarantee that we’ll have them forever. If your gallery is old and you try requesting alternate sizing years later, there may be a chance that your gallery has been archived or the raw or edited images have been deleted.

May I edit my photos after I receive them?

Photography is art, and the consistency of the style, look and promotion of that art is how the photographer gains their business. Each of Kimberly’s photographs holds a copyright and has the photographs metadata embedded into them. Kimberly Domangue Photography owns all of the rights of the photographs, even after they are in your possession. All of the images are for personal use only. All images from your gallery or off of our social media or websites can NOT be altered*, nor can they be used or sold for commercial use unless we have a signed contract for you to do so.

*Do not copy, screen shot, scan, crop, reproduce, edit or sell any photograph without prior written consent from Kimberly Domangue Photography.

You may request KDP to do a particular edit to a photograph such as a crop, touching up blemishes or darkening/lightening an image, etc. at any time. Any large edit requests, however, such as changing the style of the image, removing a piece of clothing, removing or adding people, removing unreasonable glare from glasses, swapping faces, etc. will have to be assessed to be sure they are attainable and won’t ruin the integrity of the photograph. These larger edit requests may have an edit fee, which you will be quoted.

IS GETTING HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE PROFESSIONALLY REALLY NECESSARY FOR MY SHOOT?

If you’re not able to create a polished and masterful look yourself, the short answer here is simply YES. Professionally done hair and makeup can definitely make your photography sing. It’s the icing on the cake. It’s the bees’ knees. The difference it makes is astonishing (literally night and day), so if you’re on the fence, maybe my answer will help you decide. I have makeup artists and hair stylists I can recommend, to help coordinate with you directly, to make your day shine, or you may use your own. The cost of these services is included in a couple of our Senior photography packages. No matter who you use, PLEASE be sure you schedule it with plenty of hours to spare prior to our shoot so we can start on time. Lost light can never be made up.

What Sets Us Apart From the competition?

  • Kimberly is a professional photographer, creating one-of-a-kind, classic, stunning and timeless, fine images, which will not become dated. You’ll be thrilled to cherish these timeless heirlooms for years and years to come. You will not see any overly over or under exposed skin, trendy edits, oompa-loompa/yellow/orange looking images or charcoal covered faces in her collections. Her portraiture is true photography, where you can see your subjects in a professional representation.

  • KDP is a no pressure photography company. We do not charge a session fee without items being included (such as digitals etc.), and there will not be a high-pressure sales meeting following your shoot, which can cost you hundreds or thousands more than your initial investment at other companies. Our package pricing is upfront to help you make an easy decision. You have the option to easily purchase additional products, prints or downloads right from your gallery. All downloading and ordering can be done from the comfort of your home.

  • Misleading marketing from ‘other’ companies, what to lookout for:

    • Don’t let the ‘other’ companies fool you that say 50-600, or ‘all’ digital images are included. Who wants to go through 600 digital images? That’s crazy, and merely a marketing ploy! Let KDP weed out the blurry, blinking, and so-so images that don’t portray you in your best light. Our packages give you a generous number of digitals to use for many different uses. I hear often, ‘Wow, I’ve only used a few images from the downloads so far, so I understand now why I didn’t need 600!’ Narrowed down stunners go a long way.

    • Beware of low session costs that do not include anything. Most of these companies will tell you the session fee alone is for an x amount (like $150), but then you get to the in-person reveal meeting to find out you’ll be spending thousands on products or digitals. Or, if they offer very low-cost sessions and include many digitals, they’re most likely a novice photographer and you run the risk of getting what you pay for. We’ve heard all of the horror stories.

  • KDP offers many discounts including VIP discounts for repeat customers! What a great way to keep those family photos up to date on a yearly basis! These discounts can be found in the investment tab.

  • At Kimberly Domangue Photography, it is our ultimate goal and mission to make a friend and client for life. Making happy and loyal clients through our superior customer service and quality products is what we strive for. KDP would love to capture all of your special moments through life, from birthdays, family events, graduations, weddings, business needs and more!

How Do You Say Kimberlys’ Last Name?

Ha, I always laugh at this and say it’s my husbands fault. Our last name is from his French / Cajun descent and almost everyone has trouble saying and spelling it.

Domangue is phonetically pronounced as ‘DOUGH-MANG’ with a hard A.

Another way to describe it is ‘Doe’ (as in a female deer) +Mang’ (like the word hang, or that funny drink we had way back when, tang).
